Nokia is not what it used to be. Unfortunately. 

Nokia is losing the battle with smartphones. This would not really be an issue as the smartphone market is still moderate. Also market data which is promoted by Apple shows only the data from North America. Still not an issue.

The real issue lies in what people think. Here in Asia Nokia has an great market share and huge markets. This all has been great for Nokia, until now. Today the trend makers are using iPhone. They talk and share their thrill for the device. Nobody talks about Nokia anymore. At the end of the day this will have a great impact how much customers trust the low end models as well.

Even if we think that these iPhone freaks are just idiots, they are still doing the marketing for Apple products. They are laying the base for next generation phones and users. It's great to be part of something special.

Not all the people can afford the iPhone. I guess that Apple will launch iLite phone in the near future. iLite will be an simplified phone, kind of an iPod nano with SIM for developing markets, priced under $100,  and still generating money from application sales on iTunes.

Nokia is fighting back with a new flagship product, was it N8? One of those series anyway. To be remembered by the fans, but not by the community. Yet another flagship product. Who remember the last Nokia flagship product?

I'm still waiting for the next WOW! effect from Nokia. I am not the only one waiting for it. We all are.
